Like any other m echanical e q u ip ­
ment, the vehicle requires care and
maintenance.
A m aintenance booklet is delivered
with your car listing all the m aintenan­
ce jobs that m ust be carried out after
the follow ing mileages:
• Once after 1300— 1600 k m /
800— 1000 miles.
• Once after 12 000 km /7500 miles.
• A fte r2 4 0 0 0 k m /1 5 0 0 0 m ile s a n d
thereafter every 24 000 k m /
15 000 miles, but at least once
every two years.
We w ould also like to draw your atten­
tion to the hints contained in the
m aintenance booklet covering neces­
sary lu brication service every
12 000 km /7500 miles, additional
m aintenance jobs every 48 000 k m /
30 000 m ile sa nd MB individual m ain­
tenance as required.

Renew brake fluid once a year,
preferably in spring. Use only
brake fluids recom m ended by
MERCEDES-BENZ.
The vehicle m ust receivethe p re s c rib ­
ed m aintenance a n d /o r lubrication
w ork at the specified intervals as list­
ed in the m aintenance booklet. V er­
ification of perform ance of such m ain­
te n a n ce /lu b rica tio n w ork should be
recorded in the spaces provided in
the m aintenance booklet.
The m aintenance jo b s are described
in detail in a manual which you can o r­
der from your MERCEDES-BENZ
service station.
A small sticke r attached to the door
post of the d riv e r's door by the serv­
ice station personnel is to rem ind you
when the next m aintenance service
or lubrication service is due.

Severe Operating Conditions

In the case of severe operating co n d i­
tions or heavy use mainly in city traffic
or over short distances, frequent
m ountain driving, poor roads, dusty
and m uddy conditions, tra ile r op era­
tion, hard and sporty driving, etc. it
may be necessary to inspect e.g.
• the fro n t axle brake linings
• the tires
• air cleaner (clean or renew
elem ent)
at shorter intervals.
