Data Format
The M2361A can be used with two different formats, i.e., Variable Sector Format
and Fixed Sector Format, as determined by the controller.
The former contains
a 3-Byte DC erased area called an Address Mark (AM) prior to each Address Area
(AA)
indicating the beginning of a record.
Therefore, Data Area (DA) with
different lengths in a track can be written or read.
On the other hand, every
record must have the same length specified by sector length in the Fixed Sector
Format.
