8 Maintenance

Premium grade stainless steel does not require corrosion
inspection, however, in order to maintain efficiency and
improve durability we advise that an annual maintenance
check be carried out by a qualified professional.
- Any work on the refrigerant circuit must be
carried out by an F Gas Category 1 qualified
person certified to work with Hydrocarbon
Refrigerants.
- It is strictly prohibited to release refrigerant
into the atmosphere.
- The refrigerant must be collected before any
work is carried out on the circuit.
- Switch off the heat pump water heater before
opening it.
- Wait for the fan to come to a complete stop
before starting work on the appliance.
- Do not put water on any electrical parts.
- Visual inspection can be carried out by
removing the immersion heater and using an
endoscope to examine the heater.

Maintenance
When draining the tank, ensure that there is a large
enough air inlet at the top to avoid any depression in
the tank.
Products such as brushes with steel bristles, scouring
powder and any bleach based product or chlorinated
derivative should be avoided.
Waste electrical product should not be
disposed of with household waste.
Please recycle where facilities exist.
Check with your Local Authority or
retailer for recycling advice.
The R290 refrigerant in the heat pump circuit poses
no risk to the environment but is inflammable.
- do not damage the pipes in the refrigerant
circuit,
- do not pass a flame or any other ignition
source on the inside of the appliance,
- if the refrigerant leaks, unplug the appliance,
air the room and contact the after sales team,
- do not use any mechanical means to speed up
de-icing,
- do not pierce or burn the appliance: in case of
damage on the refrigerant circuit, the
refrigerant must be recovered.
N.B :The fan blades are sharp-edged and can
cause injury; take care not to damage or deform
them.
Please Note: This product should be serviced
annually to optimise its safety, efficiency and
performance. The service engineer should
complete the relevant Service Record on the
Benchmark Checklist after each service.
The Benchmark Checklist will be required in the
event of any warranty work. For more information
on warranty see Section 9.
8.1
Water Circuit/Condensation
Draining
To check that condensation is draining correctly:
- Remove upper cover (see Section 6.9.1).
- Check for blockages in the drainage hole.
- Clean the condensate recovery container, were
deposits from air intake may have gathered.
- Clean the flexible draining hose.
The pressure limiting device must be switched on
regularly to eliminate limescale and check for
blockages.
Check that all hydraulic connections on the heat pump
water heater are watertight.
8.2

Air Intake Circuit

Ensure the evaporator is checked at least once a year,
more depending on the cleanliness of the air taken in.
