Oximetry alarms

The oximetry alarms are only available when the pulse oximeter is connected to the Astral device. The
alarms are enabled even when the ventilator is in standby.
The SpO and Pulse rate alarms are automatically disabled when the pulse oximeter is disconnected

from the Astral device.

SpO2

Oxygen saturation alarms activate when the monitored SpO
alarm setting (no delay).
Alarm Activates when
Low SpO Saturation of peripheral oxygen is less than the low SpO
2
measured by the pulse oximeter.
High SpO Saturation of peripheral oxygen is greater than the high SpO
2
setting as measured by the pulse oximeter.
No SpO monitoring SpO

disabled or disconnected, or has a degraded signal for more than 10
seconds.

Pulse rate

Pulse rate alarms activate when the average pulse rate (Pulse) exceeds the corresponding alarm setting
(no delay).
Alarm Activates when
Low pulse rate Pulse rate is less than the low Pulse setting as measured by the
pulse oximeter.
High pulse rate Pulse rate is greater than the high Pulse setting as measured by the
pulse oximeter.

Ventilation stopped alarm

The ventilation stopped alarm alerts the carer that a user has stopped the ventilator.
This alarm should be enabled if unexpected user intervention is possible.
