System Integration

Before or during installation of the R88L-EA-AF linear system, please make sure to read and understand the fol-
lowing guideline:
• Always be aware that the linear system includes powerful magnets.
• Make sure that only trained staff enters the working area.
• Qualified staff must wear EMC and ESD compliant clothing (shoes, gloves, etc...)
• Keep the assembly and unpacking areas clean and free from ferromagnetic parts of any kind.

Mechanical Integration

Prepare the mounting surface of the linear axis and the mounting surface of the machine, clean and flat as shown
(see the below picture).

Please, be aware that deviations in surface flatness can impair accuracy, repeat accuracy and lifetime of the prod-
uct.
Only qualified staff is allowed to disassemble, install and reassemble the linear axis. This
includes any actions that make it necessary to remove the cover or to open the axis:
• Never pull the linear axis by its cables, cable chain, connector box or cover to lift, push or
generally move the axis
• Keep the transportation and shipping lock between the slider and axis in place until you
no longer need to handle the axis and until electrical and mechanical installation is com-
pleted. Only remove the transportation lock immediately before switching on the system
If you do not follow this rule, the slider can easily become dislodged. Crushed fingers or
other severe injuries may result.
During installation, keep the system itself and the product electrically disconnected. Switch
off the power while installing the linear axis in the machine.
• Make sure to tighten all mounting screws completely to the correct torque value given in
the following table
• After installing the system in the machine, ensure that the linear axis can move fully from
one end to the other along the complete specified stroke
