Cabling the 5887 disk drive enclosure to an EDR1 PCIe storage enclosure that is
attached to an 8412-EAD, 9117-MMC, 9117-MMD, 9179-MHC, or 9179-MHD
Use this information as a guide for cabling your disk drive enclosure to your PCIe storage enclosure.
Note: The IBM i operating system does not support attaching more than one 5887 disk drive enclosure to
an EDR1 PCIe storage enclosure.
Figure 37 on page 32 shows one 8412-EAD, 9117-MMC, 9117-MMD, 9179-MHC, or 9179-MHD with one
5887 disk drive enclosure connected to one EDR1 PCIe storage enclosure by using two SAS EX cables.
