Use this information as a guide for cabling your disk drive enclosure to your PCIe storage enclosure.
Note: The 8231-E1D and 8268-E1D must be one of two systems in a high-availability configuration in
order to support a PCIe storage enclosure.
Figure 22 shows one 8231-E2D with two 5887 disk drive enclosures connected to one EDR1 PCIe storage
enclosure by using four SAS EX cables.
Note: The IBM i operating system does not support attaching more than one 5887 disk drive enclosure to
an EDR1 PCIe storage enclosure.
