Cabling the EDR1 PCIe storage enclosure to an 8231-E1D, 8231-E2D,
or 8268-E1D system
Use this as a guide for cabling your PCIe storage enclosure to an 8231-E1D, 8231-E2D, or 8268-E1D
system.
Figure 19 shows an example of connecting an EDR1 PCIe storage enclosure to an 8231-E2D system by
using two feature code (FC) EJ0H PCIe2 GX++ adapters and two PCIe cables.
Figure 19. One EDR1 PCIe storage enclosure connected to an 8231-E2D system by using two FC EJ0H PCIe2 GX++
adapters and two PCIe cables
Figure 20 on page 19 shows one EDR1 PCIe storage enclosure connected to two 8231-E1D, 8231-E2D, or
8268-E1D systems by using two FC EJ0H PCIe2 GX++ adapters and two PCIe cables.
Note: The 8231-E1D and 8268-E1D must be one of two systems in a high-availability configuration in
order to support a PCIe storage enclosure as is shown in Figure 20 on page 19.
