Construction

The GEMÜ 1230 electrical position indicator
has one or two microswitches.
The corrosion resistant plastic unit is
designed for linear valves with actuator
strokes up to 20 mm (actuating travel).
The position indicator spindle has a positive
direct connection with the valve actuator
without axial play.
The electrical connection is via socket or
cable gland.
Optional LED display (not available for all
versions) see chapter 4.8 "LED display
assignment".

Assembly

CAUTION
Destruction of the position indicator
when disassembling the valve body!
Disassemble the electrical position

indicator before disassembling the
valve body.
Please pay attention to the
G
information on product labels
and in product documentation.
Connect cable carefully, do not
G
damage individual wires!
When connecting multiwire or
G
finewire cables, prepare the wire
ends.
Always use suitable pinch tools
G
for pinching wire end ferrules
in order to achieve consistent
compression quality.
Strongly tighten all clamping
G
points, also those not used.

Preparation of the valve

When retrofitting the position indicator to a
valve, please proceed as follows:
Move the valve to the open position.

Remove protective cap A and/or optical
G
position indicator B, C from top of actuator.
Check the type of mounting kit:
G
- Mounting kit with internal or external
thread: for assembly see chapter 4.2.1
or 4.2.2.
- Mounting kit without thread:
for assembly see chapter 4.3.
