Using a TCP/IP connection to read from the
panel
If your VM-1 control panel is equipped with an Ethernet card, your service
provider can use the TCP/IP connection to read status and diagnostic information
from the panel instead of using an RS-232 connection. By default, this feature is
"unlocked." Locking this feature prevents you from reading from the panel until it
is unlocked.
Notes
The Remote Read Lock command does not automatically time out.
Activating and restoring the Remote Read Lock command does not affect
reading panel status and diagnostic information using an RS-232 connection.
