Common settings

This section describes settings common to some operation modes.
(1) Operation mode setting
According to the application, select an operation mode from the following five modes. The setting items depend
on the selected operation mode. For required settings and available functions for each operation mode, refer to
the following table.
Operation mode
Normal mode
In this mode, the CPU module operate as a general high-speed counter.
Frequency measurement
The frequencies of pulses input to the pulse input signals of phases A and B are
mode
measured.
Rotation speed
A rotation speed is calculated from the number of pulses input to the pulse input
measurement mode
signals of phases A and B.
Pulse measurement
The on or off width of pulses input to Function input signal is measured.
mode
PWM output mode
PWM waveforms are output from Coincidence output No.1 signal.
(2) Count source selection
Select a count source from the following.
Count source
Counts pulses input to the pulse input signals of phases A and B of an
A Phase/B Phase
external I/O connector. Select a pulse count method in "Pulse Input
Mode".
Internal Clock (0.1s)
Internal Clock (1s)
Counts pulses generated at the inside of a LCPU in the specified cycle.
Internal Clock (10s)
Internal Clock (100s)
Counts pulses at the timing according to the operation mode set to other
channels.
Other CH Coincidence
• Normal mode: On the rising edge of CH2 Counter value coincidence
Output No.1
• PWM output mode: On the rising edge of Coincidence output No.1
