5.4 Starting initialization

The actuator needs to be initialized on start-
ing up the actuator for the first time. Mount
the electric actuator with process controller
onto the valve before initialization to ensure
that the initialization values match the on-site
conditions.
We recommend reinitializing the actuator if
the mounting situation changes.
NOTICE
!
The process is disturbed by the movement of
the actuator stem.
Do not perform the initialization while the
process is running. First isolate the plant by
closing the shut-off valves.
Initialization is started using the operating
keys:
Press and hold for six seconds until 'In'
appears on the display. Release the key
within three seconds to start initializa-
tion.

Note
Initialization must be started no later than
three seconds after 'In' appears on the dis-
play. Otherwise, the actuator returns to
closed-loop operation.
After initialization is completed, the actuator
returns to closed-loop operation.
