QUICK START GUIDE FOR TYPE H
CLEARANCES
† Space required: 3 ft. x 7 ft. See page 9.
† Minimum and service clearances: See page 11 for
clearances table. Note that local code prevails.
COMBUSTION AIR
† Air filter location: See page 11.
† Ducting materials: PVC, CPVC, or sealed single-wall
galvanized ducting,see page 12 for details.
PIPING
† Piping options: Primary/secondary piping. Note that
the heater should be located so that any water leaks
will not cause damage to the adjacent area.
† Pressure relief valve: See page 14 for recommended
PRV orientation.
† Flow rates: See page 15 for flow values table.
† Primary/secondary piping: See pages 16-20 for
recommended configurations (including single heater
and cascades).
† Tanks: All heaters should be equipped with a
properly-sized expansion tank and air separator
fitted at the highest point in the system.
GAS
† Distance to regulator (pipe lengths) and gas inlet
sizes: See page 21.
† Required pressure for natural gas:
Min. = 4" WC, Max. = 10.5" WC
† Required pressure for propane:
Min. = 4" WC, Max. = 13" WC
† Sediment trap is required for all installations.
