Controlling the minilogue xd from an external MIDI device
If you want to play or control the minilogue xd from another MIDI keyboard, sequencer, or other
device, connect the MIDI OUT connector of the external MIDI device to the minilogue xd's MIDI
IN connector with a MIDI cable.
Connecting the minilogue xd to an external MIDI sequencer or computer
You can also play the minilogue xd's keyboard and record your performance on an external MIDI
sequencer or computer (connected using the MIDI interface), and then play the minilogue xd
while monitoring or playing back what you recorded. Also, you might want to use the minilogue
xd as both an input device for playing notes and as a MIDI tone generator. In either case, you'll
need to connect the MIDI OUT connector to the MIDI IN connector on both the minilogue xd and
the external MIDI sequencer or computer.
MIDI IN
Some MIDI interface devices may be unable to transmit or receive MIDI SysEx messages to
or from the minilogue xd.
It's convenient to use the USB port when connecting the minilogue xd to a computer.
Tip:
Connecting the minilogue xd to a computer via USB
In order to use a USB connection, you'll need to install the Korg USB-MIDI driver on your com-
puter. Download the "Korg USB-MIDI driver" from the Korg website, and install it as described in
the accompanying documentation.
If either the MIDI connection or the USB connection is not working properly, check the set-
tings in "MIDI Route" (p.41).
