CORDED OVERLOCK
Corded overlock can be used to strengthen shoulder, sleeve or
side seams when joining or making up knitted garments. As a
decorative feature you can use knitting yarn of contrasting
colours to further enhance your garment• Your machine is
equipped with a presser foot which has been designed to feed
your cord or yarn to the left of the safety stitch or to the right.
Follow instructions as follows:
Clip detachable cord guide to thread guide pole extension.
1. Place a 'frilled' cord, such as a crochet cotton, gimp, wool,
knitting yarn, or shirring elastic at the rear of the machine
spool pin• Pass the cord through the cord guides (1) and (2)
and then through the left needle thread guide (3). See Fig.
!.
Insert the cord through either the front or rear hole
(according to the operation, see diagrams Figures 2 and 3),
in the presser foot and pass it under and to the rear of the
foot.
3. Place the material to be sewn as normal• Start at slow speed
observing if cord is feeding correctly and increase speed as
needed.
FOR JOINING SHOULDERS OR SLEEVES, pass the cord
• through the front hole, ensuring that it is fixed between the left
and right needle threads as it is guided through the front hole.
(Fig. 2).
FOR JOINI_ SIDE SEAMS
hole, ensuring it is positioned to the right needle thread. (Fig. 3).
FOR DECORATIVE EFFECTS, you may pass contrasting
colours either through the front or rear hole or if you desire,
pass cord or yarn through each hole.
FOR MAKING WAVED HEM WITH GUT (Fig, 4), pass the gut
through the rear hole and start ROLL HEMMING (See page 20).
This is used for the hem of skirt, etc.
PESPUNTE ENCORDONADO
El pespunte encordonado se puede usar para fortalecer las
hombreras, mangas o costuras laterales cuando se cosen
vestidos de punto. Como un elemento decorativo Vd. puede
usar hilo de tricotar con contraste de colores, Su bucle de punto
est& equipado con un pie prensatelas que ha sido diser_ado
para alimentar su cord6n o hilo a la izquierda o a la derecha del
cosido de seguridad. Seguir las instrucciones siguientes.
Sujetar la guia separable de cord6n sobre la barra de porta
carretes.
1. Colocar un cord6n "rellenador" tal como algod6n de
ganchillo, guimpe, tana, hilo de punto o hilo arrugado
elastico en la parte posterior del carrete de la maquina.

2. Insertar el cord6n a traves del agujero frontal o posterior;
(de acuerdo con la operaci6n, ver los diagramas figuras 2 y
3) en el pie prensatelas y pasarlo por debajo y haeia atr&s
del pie.
3. Colocar el material que se ha de coser normalmente.
Comenzar a baja velocidad observando si el cord6n est&
avanzando correctamente e incrementar la velocidad
cuando sea necesario.
PARA UNIR HOMBRERAS O MANGAS pasar el cord6n a
traves dei ' anterior ase( ur_,ndose de
entre los hi!os de las agujas derecha e izquierda cuando es
guiado a trav6s del agujero frontal (Fig. 2).
PARA UNIR COSTURAS LATERALES pasar el cord6n a traves
del agujero posterior, asegur&ndose de que est& presionado
junto al hilo de la aguja derecha (Fig. 3).
PARA EFECTOS DECORATIVOS el cordon rellenador puede
usarse contrastando diferentes colores y pasando a traves de
los agujeros anterior o posterior del prensatelas.
PARA HACER DOBLADILLO ONDULADO CON LA CUERDA
(Fig.4), pasar la cuerda a traves del agujero posterior y
empezar dobladillo enrollado. (Ver p&gina 21)
Se usa para dobladillo de falda, etc.
