Procedure in the case of malfunctions

Symptom
No display appears
Cannot seize the dial-up line;
no dial tone
Cannot set up a radio link to
the base station – symbol on
the handset flashes.
Base station or handset does
not ring.
No connection after dialing a
call number; dial tone can
still be heard.
No connection after a con-
nection has been set up; dial
tone can still be heard.

Not every malfunction means that there is an actual de-
fect in your telephone. In some situations you may save
time and money if you can eliminate the cause of simple
faults yourself. The information below will help you do
this.
Cause
Handset is not switched on.
Battery is empty.
