1612000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING
FUEL INTAKE/LEVEL TRANSMIT-
TER UNIT
Intake unit of BMW 745 i has a fuel level transmitter
and initial delivery pump.
Checking Function of Initial Delivery Pump:
Requirement: fuel tank 3/4 full.
Detach intake line at fuel pump and hold end in
measuring glass 133020.
INSTALLATION: Use a new squeeze-hose clamp.
Pull off plug on air flow sensor and connect termin-
als 36 and 39.
Turn on ignition (initial delivery pump runs) .
Initial delivery pump should eject 600 cc fuel in 30
seconds.
Disconnect ground wire at battery.
Remove mat from luggage compartment.
Remove cover.
Detach hoses.
Pu' l l off plugs.
INSTALLATION: 1 Intake line
2 Return line
Use new squeeze-hose clamps.
