Maintenance

Note: Determine the left and right sides of the machine from the normal operating position.
WARNING
While maintenance or adjustments are being
made, someone could start the engine.
Accidental starting of the engine could seriously
injure you or other bystanders.
Remove the key from the ignition switch
and engage parking brake before you do any
maintenance.

Recommended Maintenance Schedule(s)

Maintenance Service

After the first 100 hours
After the first 200 hours
Before each use or daily

Every 400 hours
Maintenance Procedure
• Check the wheel lug nuts.
• Check the park brake adjustment.
• Change the deck gearbox oil.
• Change the engine oil and filter.
• Change the hydraulic filter and fluid.
• Check the engine oil level.
• Check the mower blades.
• Check the safety interlock system.
• Check the rollover protections systems (roll bar) knobs.
• Check the seat belt.
• Check for loose hardware.
• Check hydraulic reservoir level.
• Check engine coolant level.
• Clean the engine and exhaust system area.
• Clean the grass and debris build-up from the machine and cutting deck.
• Clean the grass build-up from under the cutting deck.
• Check the deck gearbox oil.
• Check the tire pressures.
• Check the condition of the belts.
• Grease drive U-joints and splined slip joint.
• Drain fuel filter/water separator.
• Clean the engine cooling system.
• Change the engine oil and filter if not using Exmark Premium Engine Oil but any oil
meeting API CJ-4 or higher or as stated in the Specifications Section.
• Replace the air cleaner elements. (May need more often under severe conditions. See the
Engine Owner's Manual for additional information.)
• Grease deck idler pivots.
• Grease caster wheel spindles.
• Replace the fuel filter/water separator (more often in dirty or dusty conditions).
• Change the deck gearbox oil. thereafter.
• Change the engine oil and filter if using Exmark Premium Engine Oil (API CK-4 or higher)
(May need more often under severe conditions.)
• Change the hydraulic filter and fluid if using Mobilfluid™ 424.
• Check the park brake adjustment.
WARNING
The engine can become very hot. Touching a hot
engine can cause severe burns.
Allow the engine to cool completely before
service or making repairs around the engine area.
