To check the needle thread tension:
1.
Sew a seam and check the following:
Deviations require an adjustment of the individual tensioner
elements.
Pre-tensioner
The pre-tensioner (4) holds the thread in position if the main
tensioner (2) and additional tensioner (1) are completely open.
Information
In machines equipped with an automatic thread cutter the
pre-tensioner (4) determines the length of the initial thread for
the new seam.
2.
Turn the pre-tensioner adjusting wheel (4)
• Shorter initial thread: Turn the adjusting wheel clockwise
• Longer initial thread: Turn the adjusting wheel counter-
clockwise
The length of the initial thread should be approx. 60 - 80 mm.
