• A front Thunderbolt PCIe x4 card
• A bezel
• A general-purpose input/output (GPIO) cable
• A mini-SAS cable
• An internal DP-to-DP cable
• An external DP-to-DP cable
To remove or install a front Thunderbolt adapter kit, do the following:
1. Prepare your computer. See "Preparing your computer and removing the computer cover" on page 103.
2. Record the cable connections and cable routing. Then, disconnect all cables connected to the flex
module from the system board. See "Parts on the system board" on page 38.
3. Remove the flex module from the front of the computer. See "Device in a flex bay" on page 109.
4. Lift the clip on the rear of the flex module, and then slide the flex module cover to the rear of the flex
module.

5. To remove a front Thunderbolt I/O adapter, do the following:
a. Remove all the cables connected to the front Thunderbolt I/O adapter.
b. Pull the clip as shown to remove the front Thunderbolt I/O adapter and the retaining bracket out of
the flex module.
