TROUBLESHOOTING

If your scanner is not working as it should, these suggestions
might help you eliminate the problem. If the scanner still does
not operate properly, take it to your local RadioShack store for
assistance.
PROBLEM

SOLUTION
Be sure the adapter's barrel
plug is fully inserted into the
POWER jack.
Replace the batteries with
fresh ones, or recharge the
rechargeable batteries.
Reset the scanner. See
"Resetting the Scanner" on
Page 33.
Make sure an antenna is
properly connected to the
scanner.
Be sure SQUELCH is ad-
justed properly. See "Turn-
ing On the Scanner/Setting
Volume and Squelch" on
Page 22.
Avoid programming fre-
quencies listed under
"Birdie Frequencies" on
Page 34 or only listen to
them manually.
Turn off the keylock.
Reset the scanner (see
"Resetting the Scanner" on
Page 33
