Tighten the nuts while holding the spindle
stationary. Use a wrench on the notches at
the top of the spindle for leverage, as shown
in Figure 36.

Replace the main guard.

Spindle Height
To adjust the cutter height:
1.
Loosen the spindle height lock (see Figure
37).
2.
Move the spindle up or down with the eleva-
tion handwheel until the desired position is
obtained.
3.
Lock the spindle into position.

Fence Adjustment
The fence is a two-piece adjusting system. Each
fence is independently adjustable to compensate
for different cutting thicknesses and special shap-
ing applications. One turn of a fence knob moves
each fence approximately
To adjust the fence:
1.
Loosen the fence lock handle (see Figure
38).

38) until the fence is set to the desired posi-
tion.
3.
Tighten the fence lock handle.
