Trochoid Oil Pump
6. Reinstall the gear case cover and crankshaft
pulley. See Installation of Gear Case Cover on
page 6-91.
7. Reinstall the engine coolant pump V-pulley
(Figure 9-13, (1)), spacer (Figure 9-13, (2)),
engine cooling fan (Figure 9-13, (3)) and
engine cooling fan guard (if equipped).

8. Reinstall the V-belt. Tighten the V-belt to the
proper tension as described in Check and
Adjust Cooling Fan V-Belt on page 5-21.

Components
The oil pump on these model engines is located in
the front gear case and is driven by the same gear
train that drives the camshaft and fuel injection
pump. You must remove the front gear case cover
to gain access to the oil pump.
