To enable Rapid PVST+ on the switch, perform this task:

This example shows how to enable Rapid PVST+ on the switch:

switch(config)# spanning-tree mode rapid-pvst
Because STP is enabled by default, entering the show running command to view the resulting

Enabling Rapid PVST+ per VLAN

You can enable or disable Rapid PVST+ on each VLAN.
Rapid PVST+ is enabled by default on the default VLAN and on all VLANs that you create.
Note
To enable Rapid PVST+ per VLAN, perform this task:
