Configuration: Network - General
As SwannLink Peer-to-
Peer technology is uti-
lised to communicate
with your network and
mobile device, config-
uration of the network
settings is not required.
If you have networking
expertise and require
specific settings, your
DVR does have the abili-
ty to change them.
NIC Type:
Your DVR has the ability to connect to your network at various
speeds and can adjust itself accordingly.
Enable DHCP:
Your router will automatically assign an IP address to each
device connected to your network. This is enabled by default.
IPv4 Address:
Each device on your network must have a unique IP address. A
typical address might be "192.168.1.24" or something similar.
IPv4 Subnet Mask:
This allows the flow of network traffic between hosts to
be segregated based on a network configuration. A typical address might be
"255.255.255.0" or something similar.
IPv4 Default Gateway:
This allows your DVR to connect to the internet. This
is typically the same IP address as your modem or router.
IPv6 Address 1/2 & Default Gateway:
net Protocol (IP). It will eventually replace the older IPv4 system.

IPv6 is the latest revision of the Inter-
MAC Address:
The MAC (Media Access Control) address is hardwired into
the hardware and can't be changed. If password protection has been enabled
and you have forgotten your password, the MAC address (without the colons)
can be used to create a new password.
MTU (Bytes):
The MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) is the size of the larg-
est datagram that can be sent over a network.
Preferred DNS Server:
A DNS (Domain Name System) server is used to
translate a website address to its IP address.
Alternate DNS Server:
A backup DNS server.
UID:
The UID (and QR code) is used to access your DVR from SwannView Plus
on your mobile device or computer.
Send UID:
Click this button to send the UID to your email address.
· Don't forget to click "Apply"
to save settings.
· Click the "Back" button to go
back to the Menu.
