Laboratory glassware washer

Fault
Glass utensils are
cloudy and etched.
Stainless steel utensils
are corroded.
Possible cause
The items are not suitable
for machine processing.
Neutralisation has not
been carried out during
the programme cycle.
The damage to glassware
was caused by too high a
wash temperature.
The damage to glassware

cleaning agent that is too
alkaline.
The chloride content of
the water is too high.
The salt reservoir cap has
not been screwed on
correctly.
Neutralisation has not

Rust has entered the
wash cabinet due to:
– the iron content of the
water being too high,
– rusty laboratory
utensils being cleaned
in the machine.
The stainless steel is not
a good enough quality to
be processed by
machine.
Problem solving guide
Remedy
Only clean laboratory
glassware and utensils that
are suitable for machine
processing in the machine.
Fill the neutralising agent
container.
Select a suitable programme,
or lower the wash
temperature.
Use a milder cleaning agent,
or lower the DOS1
concentration.
Have the water analysed. If
necessary, connect the
machine to an external water
softener unit and use
deionised water.
Replace it making sure it
screws back on correctly.
Fill the neutralising agent
container.
– Check the water supply.
– Dispose of any rusty
laboratory utensils.
Only use utensils made of
high quality stainless steel.
