exceeded,
replace crankshaft
assembly or reduce the deflection
and
the side
clearance
within the limit
by
replacing the worn
parts
-
connecting rod, big, end bearing.
crankpin and thrust
washer etc.

Crankshaft deflection
Support
the
crankshaft
with "V"
blocks as
shown. with
t h e
two end
bearings resting
on
the
blocks. Rig up the dial
gauge,
as shown. and
rotate
the
crankshaft slowly to read the deflec-
tion.
Replace the crankshaft if the deflection is
greater
than
the limit.
