6.0 Maintenance

Your ALTO high pressure washer is maintenance-free and therefore no special qualifications are required
for the daily use.
However, it applies to the most exposed components that a minimum of maintenance ensures a prolonged
and problem-free operation. Therefore it will be a good idea to make a habit of the following:
Before mounting the water inlet hose and the high pressure hose, the couplings should be
cleaned free of dust and sand.
Before mounting spray lance or any other accessory on the spray handle, the machine should
be started and the coupling cleaned of dust and sand.
In periods where detergents are not used, the injector system should be flushed through with
pure water to avoid drying up/clogging up of soap in the system.
The water filter should be cleaned once a month or more frequently if required.
The machine should be stored in a frost-free room. If by mistake the machine freezes up, it
must not be started. Let machine, hoses and accessories thaw out before starting up.
NEVER START A FROZEN MACHINE.

6.1 Cleaning of high pressure nozzle

Clogging up in the nozzle causes a pump pressure which is too high, and cleaning is immediately required.
1. Stop the cleaner and detach the spray lance.
2. Carefully clean the nozzle. You may use ALTO nozzle cleaning tool no 6401654.
IMPORTANT: ONLY use the cleaning tool when the spray lance is detached!
3. Flush the spray lance backwards with water.
4. If the pressure is still too high, repeat items 1-3.

6.2 Cleaning of water inlet filter

The water filter (1) should be cleaned once a month
or more frequently if required. Remove the spring
ring (2) by means of a screw driver and take out the
water filter. Loosen large persistant particles and
carefully clean the filter. Remount the water filter
before using the machine again.

6.3 Cleaning of vents

The machine should be kept clean so as to let
cooling air pass freely to the machine vents, sides
and bottom (3). Prevent water from penetrating the
cleaner through these vents.
