3.0 Storage
NOTE:
The machine should be stored in a frost-
free room!
In order to prevent damage from frost, the ma-
chine, hoses and spray lance should always be
emptied of water prior to storing as follows:
1. Stop the machine and detach inlet hose and
accessory.
2. Restart the machine and activate the trigger.
Let the machine run until no more water runs
through the spray handle.
3. Stop the machine, detach high pressure hose.
FROST PROTECTION. If the storage room is
not frost-free the machine should be protected
with an antifreeze solution and hoses and acces-
sories should be emptied of water.
Should the machine by mistake be frozen, it will
be necessary to check it for damage.
NEVER START UP A FROZEN MACHINE.

4.0 Detergents

Many cleaning tasks can be solved with water
alone, but you will achieve better results if a
detergent is used. The detergent ensures a quick
and thorough soaking of the dirt and the high
pressure water penetrates and removes the dirt
effectively.
ALTO supplies a range of detergents. Please
contact your nearest ALTO distributor for further
information.

5.0 Accessories

ALTO supplies a range of accessories for high
pressure washers, which offers many new appli-
cations for your high pressure washer.
Please contact your nearest ALTO distributor for

6.0 Maintenance

WARNING! Always remove the plug from the
socket before cleaning the machine.
Your ALTO high pressure washer is maintenance
free. To ensure a long and problem free working
life please take the following advice:
l Before the garden hose, high pressure hose,
lance and other accessories are being mounted,
always clean nipples and fittings of dust and
sand.
l The water inlet screen should be cleaned once
a month or more frequently according to use
(see section 6.2).
l If the high pressure washer has not been ap-
plied for a long period, scale may settle. Turn
the motor with a screwdriver until it comes
loose, see fig. 7.
6.1 Cleaning of nozzle
A clogging up in the nozzle causes a pump pres-
sure which is too high. This is why cleaning is
required immediately.
1. Stop the machine and disconnect the spray
lance.
2. Adjust the nozzle to high pressure.
3. Clean the nozzle with the cleaning needle (6).
IMPORTANT: The needle should only be used
when the spray lance is disconnected!
4. Flush the spray lance backwards with water.
5. If the pressure is still too high, repeat items 1-
4.
6.2 Cleaning of water inlet screen
Clean the water inlet screen regularly once a
month or more frequently according to use. Re-
move the water screen by means of a screwdriver
(fig. 9). Remove large particles and flush the
screen thoroughly. Re-insert the screen prior to
using the machine again.
6.3 Cleaning of machine vents
The machine should be kept clean so as to let
cooling air pass freely to the machine vents in
both ends of the machine. Prevent water from
penetrating the machine through these vents.
