Dividing recorded tracks

Press – or + repeatedly until "Divide?"
appears, then press ENTER/YES.

Press . or > repeatedly until the
desired track number to divide appears,
then press ENTER/YES.
"—Rehearsal—" appears and the portion to
be divided is played repeatedly.

While monitoring the sound, press – or
+ repeatedly to adjust the point to be
divided.
You can shift the point by 1-frame* intervals
(1 frame = 1/86 second).
To shift the point by second or minute
intervals, press m or M so that second or
minute flashes, then press – or +.
* You can shift the point by 2-frame intervals
(tracks recorded in Monaural or LP2 Stereo
mode) or by 4-frame intervals (tracks
recorded in LP4 Stereo mode).

Press ENTER/YES when the position is
correct.
"Complete!" appears for a few seconds and
the newly created track starts playing.
To cancel dividing
Press MENU/NO.

To return to the condition before
DIVIDE
You can return to the original condition
immediately after dividing the tracks (see page
50). You can also return to the original condition
by using the Combine function (see page 49).
Notes
• If you divide a labelled track (page 41) into two
tracks, only the first track retains the track title.
E.g.:

The new track is not labelled
• You cannot divide the start or end of a track.
• "Impossible" appears, when you specify the
division point at the beginning or end of a track.
Press – or + to shift the position.
