Basic Operation for External Device
Control
Use the Device menu to carry out operations for controlling external devices
such as devices supporting P-BUS (Peripheral II protocol) (referred to as "P-
BUS devices" in the manual), and VTRs.
For VTRs only, you can also carry out operations using the device control
block.
Accessing the Device menu
In the menu control block, press the top menu selection button [DEV].

Saving Control Setting Data in Registers

For P-BUS devices, you can save the action settings in a register.
This section describes the procedure for saving a P-BUS timeline edited in the
Device menu into a register.
For more details of the method of editing a P-BUS timeline, see "Editing the
P-BUS Timeline" (page 14).

Basic Operation for External Device Control

In the keyframe control block, press the [EDIT ENBL] button, turning it
on.
In the numeric keypad control block, press the [EFF] button, turning it on.
This assigns the numeric keypad control block to keyframe operations, and
the [RCALL] button lights.
Press the [P-BUS] button in the numeric keypad control block, turning it
on, to select the P-BUS region.
Enter the number of the register to be recalled with the numeric keypad
buttons.
To search for an empty register, instead of entering a number, press the "."
(period) button.
The display shows the register number. A letter "e" or "E" after the number
indicates the register status, as follows:
