To connect battery, open top

service door.

Stop engine and let cool.

Engine backfire can cause se-
vere burns or other injuries.
Do not point exhaust pipe to-
ward control panel. Keep away
from exhaust outlet.

Do not point exhaust pipe to-
ward air cleaner. Do not point
exhaust pipe towards shield-
ing gas tank (if equipped).

Point exhaust pipe in desired di-
rection but always away from
front panel and direction of travel.
Connect negative (−)
battery cable last.
