Turn
the control knob
to
the left
of
the
dial
face
to move
the
po
inter
to the desired temperature. Depress the "LOW"
or
"H
IGH"
push
butto
n
to place
the system
in
automatic ope
ration. During winte
r
operation,
the system will not
operate until the
eng ine
temperature reaches
125°F.
(approximately
4
mi
nutes at 32
6
F.)
Eight fan
speeds are
used
in ma intaining au tomatic temperature
control.
The
" LOW"
button provides
five
low
speed ranges.
This
selection is gene rally sufficient
for
temperature cont rol when the
outside
air
is
neither
ext reme ly cold
nor hot. The
"H
IGH
"
button
provides three
additional
fan speeds which
may
be required when the
outside
air
is considerably colder
or
wa rmer
than
the
temperature
selected on the
dial.
In both
the
"LOW" and
"H
IGH"
positions,
the
best
fan
speed
for the temperature
condi tion
is
selected automatically.
When first
turned
on, the system will
automatically
wa
rm
or
cool
the ca
r
at
the fastest
rate possible
to
obtain the comfort level selected.
The four
adju
stable
instrument
panel registe rs are used when can·
ditioned air is
required
to
ma
intain
the
se lected air tempe rature. Also,
if
cooling is requ ired,
two
outlets
under the
in
strument panel
w
ill pro·
vide
ai
r
to coo
l
the
floor area.
The
co ld
air
flow
from these
discharge
outlets can
be
regu lated
by
a
slide contro
l
at
each
po rt
outlet.
NOTE: Each
of the
two instrument
cl
uster registers
are
provided
with
a shut·off
knob which
can
limit
or com·
pletely shut off
the
cold air
flow from these regi sters.
Make
sure these
registers are open when
first starting
the
automatic
temperature control system.
IMPORTANT: Do not set the tem
p
erature dial
at
the
maximum cold or
h
ot posit
i
on when the system is first
turned on
.
This will not
i
ncrease or decrease the cool
down or warm up rate.
Instead
. select the ultimate tem-
perature desired for you
r
comfort. (Recommended start-
up setting is 75°)
.
Starting the
system
at a maximum
setting will
actu
ally delay reaching the desired comfort
setting as seve ral adjustments may likely be required
.
Allow
t ime for the ca
r
interior
to
reach the
temperature you have
selected before
making any
minor
adjustment you
may
feel
is
necessary.
After a readjustment
of
the temperature
setting, the
system will auto-
matically
operate to mainta
in
the
comfort
level
se lected.
TO DE ICE THE WINDSHIELD
Press the
"DE ICE" push
button.
Automatically
the
fan will operate
on its highest speed and
maximum heat
wi
ll
be directed to the
defroster ou tlets at the windshield.
NOTE: Some heated air will
also
be directed through the
heater outlets and the rear
seat
heater
duct.
