5.13 Removing/Installing the Fork Assembly

– If replacing a fork, note the mounting position of the
existing front caster for installation of the new fork.
Removing Fork Assembly
1. Remove the front caster from the fork. Refer to 5.12
Removing/Installing/Repositioning the Caster Assemblies, page
70.
2. Perform one of the following:
• Standards Forks — Remove locknut A securing the fork B
from the fork stem C (Detail "A").
•
Suspension Fork (Detail "B")
a. Unscrew fork stem C from head tube D.
•
One Sided Fork (Detail "C")
Unscrew fork stem C from head tube D.

Installing Fork Assembly
WARNING!
– Use Loctite™242 on threads on fork stem C when
reinstalling the suspension fork or one sided fork into
the head tube D. Otherwise, the fork B may become
loose and disengage from the head tube D. Possible
injury or damage could result.

1. Perform one of the following:
DETAIL "A" — STANDARD FORK
• Standard Forks - Using a locknut A, secure the fork B to
the fork stem C (Detail "A").
