3.2 Glossary of S Registers
S0 Number of Rings Before Auto Answer
S0 determines the number of rings that must be received before the modem automatically
answers an incoming call. For example, when S0=3, the modem automatically answers after the
third ring. When S0=0, the modem does not automatically answer an incoming call; it stays on-
hook until the A command is issued manually to answer the incoming call.
