Error Log Reports
There are two basic types of Error Log Reports. They are the
Summary Report and the Detail Report.
Summary Report
The Summary Report is the default report of the errpt command.
The Summary Report provides one-line descriptions of each error
record or information record stored in the Error Log. The
Summary Report can be limited to specific data such as; permanent
errors or hardware errors. Examples of the commands to produce
these reports are given under Error Log Command Examples in
this appendix.
The following information is provided in a Summary Report:
Date/Time Provides the date and time the entry was logged.
Class Provides the class of the error such as; hardware or
software.
Subclass Provides additional information about the error class
such as; the device Or component that caused the
error.
Type Provides information about the severity of the error
such as; permanent, or temporary.
Device For hardware errors the device is identified, if
possible.
Cause If the cause for the error can be determined, the
cause is listed here.
