2.4.2 Notes on Mounting a Camera

Fix the camera firmly so it doesn't wobble. You can mount the camera directly or using a designated
mounting plate. Use the dimensional diagram for reference when you mount the camera.
• If the positive terminal of the power supply is connected to ground, be sure to mount the camera in an
electrically insulated way. When connecting between the AX40 and the camera with a camera cable,
the camera case (outer shell) is connected to the internal circuit ground. Therefore, if the camera is
directly mounted on the device without insulation, a short-circuit condition occurs between +24V and
GND, resulting in damaging the internal circuit ground. Also, even in the case where the negative
terminal of the power supply is connected to ground, when you mount the camera on a device with a
different electric potential, the parts inside the camera may be damaged. Be sure to mount it in an
electrically insulated way.
• When you mount the camera using screws without a designated mounting plate, bear in mind that
screws come into the inside of the camera less than 3 mm from its bottom.
• The side of the plate mounted is the bottom of capturing images displayed on the screen. The
mounting direction of the camera determines the angle of captured image. Note that it is impossible
to capture the image by rotating it with the AX40.
• To avoid the effect of a variation within mounting dimensional tolerance of CCD element, be sure to
verify it with an actual image.
