6.8.3 Setting Procedure
Settings of inspection conditions
1.
Set a checker area following "Basic Operation at checker Setting" on page 66.
2.
Highlight "Target".
Select "White (Extr.)" or "Black (Not Extr.)" from the submenu.
White (Extract):
For a binary image, measures the area of pixels in white. For an extraction image,
counts the number of pixels in the specified "Extract" color.
Black (Not Extract):
For a binary image, measures the area of pixels in black. For an extraction image, counts the number of
pixels in the specified "Not extract" color.

Select "Filter".
For filtering, select "Dilate" or "Erode" from the submenu while checking the image.
Filter:
Enlarges or reduces a cluster of the object image pixels selected at step 2. Mainly
use this function when deleting a slight noise or enhancing a detected area.

Select "Position Adj." and press the ENTER key.
When making a position /rotation adjustment, specify the number of Position Adjustment.
But, you can specify only the Position/ Rotation Adjustments assigned to the lower numbers than the
Binary Edges. See page 115 for Position Adjustment and page 129 for Rotation Adjustment.

Select "Max. Area Limit" and press the ENTER key.
The value shown at the right of "Max. Area Limit" is selected.
Max./Min. Area Limit:
Specifies this function to detect only the desired objects when there are the other objects within the search
area, or to detect an object of a certain size. Only the object having an area within the "Min./Max. Area
Limit" is detected.
When you want to count the apples in the figure shown
below that are not bitten, specify as follows:
Max. Area Limit: 245760 (initial value)
Min. Area Limit: 400
The number of clusters of more than 400 pixels is counted
so that the bitten apples of 350-pixel area are ignored.
Therefore, four apples will be detected.
6.
Specify "Max. Area Limit" and "Min. Area Limit".
