Cooking With A "Fan" Oven
The heat comes from a circular element situated at the rear of the oven, the fan blows
air over the element and circulates hot air around the oven figure 5.
Turn the function selector control knob to position Oven and set the required
temperature with the thermostat control knob. The set temperature has been reached
when the temperature indicator light goes off. Several different meals may be cooked
simultaneously on various shelves, as the heated air circulates evenly throughout the
oven figure 6. The hot air system cooks more quickly than conventional static system,
therefore the temperature should be set 15°C - 20°C below the values recommended in
your recipe books. The oven door may be opened though briefly while cooking as any
heat losses are quickly recovered when the door is closed.
Grilling
Turn the function selector control knob to position Grill. Pre-heat grill for about 5
minutes, the infra red grill element in the top of the oven will become bright red in
colour. Place the grill pan with the food brushed with a little oil, in the most convenient
position (usually in the highest position, close to the infra-red grill).
Use the detachable handle to move the grill pan in and out of the oven . Ensure that
the detachable handle is removed so that the oven door can be closed during grilling.
Check continually, as the temperature is very high and the food might easily burn.
The infra-red grill can also be used for browning meals after ordinary cooking.
The oven is supplied with a grill pan handle which clips onto the grill pan. The handle
must be removed before closing the oven door.
We recomend that you use oven gloves when using the grill pan handle or when
removing the grill pan or oven shelves as they become very hot when in use.
