DiSEqC
Digital Satellite Equipment Control: A digital control signal for controlling DiSEqC-capable
components of the external unit via an antenna connection. The following example shows
how existing systems can integrate with DiSEqC components.
DVB
Digital Video Broadcasting: A universal digital transmission technology used for pictures,
graphics, sound and text, i.e. for data in any shape or form, and in any possible, always
appropriate quality.
EPG
Electronic Program Guide = electronic program guide.
The electronic program guide is an additional function of many DVB receiving units. These
can transmit program information sent by transmitters, if present, graphically onto the screen
for the user and hence allow an overview of current programs to be seen. In TechniSat
devices, this program guide is designated with SFI or EPG and includes further additional
functions. See here SFI/EPG.
Fine tuning (Broadcaster fine tuning)
The image is optimized when there are transmission problems on the sender side. It also
influences the image quality of the video text.
Hard disk
Hard disks are a component of computer technology. They contain digital data stored in
magnetic form. In this device, the hard disk is used to record programs. Via digital recording,
quality losses are eliminated and all the information transmitted by the broadcaster can be
storedes.
In addition, the hard disk can also be used to store images (JPG) and music tracks (MP3).
