Controls

Manual Shift

The engine can only
be started with the
transmission in
neutral.
Turn the key to "on"
and ensure the stop
switch is in the run
position.
The neutral indicator
light should be on. If
it is not, shift the foot
pedal down ( or up
and down, if in
Reverse) to find
neutral. Refer to the
gear shift pedal
illustrated on this
page.
Once the vehicle is in
neutral, start the
engine by engaging
the starter.

Brake Start

This model also has a
brake start feature that
can be used when it is
difficult to find
neutral. To activate,
pull on the LH brake
lever and engage the
starter.

Gear Shift Pedal
To shift to a higher gear,
raise the pedal one full
stroke.
To downshift, depress the
pedal one full stroke.
