The term “power tool" in all of the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.

    BATTERY AND CHARGER SAFETY WARNINGS • The longest life and best performance can be obtained if the battery pack is charged when the air temperature is between 18 - 24ºC. Do not charge the battery pack in an air temperature below 10ºC or above 40ºC. This is important and will prevent damage to the battery pack.

    CHARGING YOUR LITHIUM ION BATTERY The batteries (6) have been shipped in a low charge condition, and requires charging prior to use. • Connect the charging jack (11) to the charging cradle (9) (see Fig. 1). • Plug the charging adaptor (10) into a mains power Charger outlet.

Subsequent charges • After normal usage, approximately 3-5 hours of charging time is required to fully recharge the battery (6). • If the battery (6) is completely discharged, 5 hours or longer of charging time will be required to fully recharge it.

    ASSEMBLY Installing the battery • Holding the cut saw upright and picking up the battery (6) in your opposite hand. Insert the battery (6) until it clicks into place (see Fig. 3). • Do not use excessive force when inserting the battery (6).

    CUT SAW OPERATION Selecting the right saw blade Caution! The CSL-018 Cut Saw is designed to only accept Universal (u-shaped) style jigsaw blade. WARNING! Remove the battery (6) from the cut saw before inserting or removing a blade or when making any adjustments to your saw.

Take care that the hole in the end of the blade is inserted into the tool-less blade clamp (1).   • Page 15 CUT SAW OPERATION (cont.) Cutting procedure The saw blade does most of its cutting as it travels towards the operator. This can cause splintering on the top surface of the work piece. Therefore, if possible, position yourself or the work piece so that the desired “good” side of the work piece is facing away from you.
