Replacing the Hot-Swap SCSI Disk Drive Cage and SCSI
Backplane
1. Power off the system and ensure it is disconnected from the AC power
source.
2. Open and remove the front door.
3. Remove the left and right side panel as described earlier in this chapter.
4. Tag and remove all disk drive carriers from the disk drive cage following
procedures in the previous section of this chapter.
Note:
with five screws: one screw is located on the left side of the
drive bay, two screws are located at the front of the drive
bay, and two additional screws are located at the right side
of the drive bay.
5. Remove the front input fan following procedures described earlier in this
chapter. See figure 4-14, B for the location of the front input fan.
6. Tag and disconnect power and interface cables connected to the SCSI
backplane. See Figure 4-24, F.
7. Remove the two mounting screws securing the drive bay to the right side of
the chassis. See Figure 4-24, A, and B.
