Replacing the Power Supply

1. Power off the system and ensure it is disconnected from the AC power
source.
2. Open and remove the front door and remove the left side panel as described
earlier in this chapter.
3. Tag and disconnect power cables connected to the system board.
4. Tag and disconnect the power cables connected to all internal peripheral
devices in the system.
5. Remove the front input fan following procedures described earlier in this
chapter. See Figure 4-14 for the location of the front input fan.
6. Tag and remove the power cable connected to the SCSI backplane.
7. Remove the four screws that secure the power supply to the rear panel.
Figure 4-40, A illustrates the correct screws you are removing.
8. Slide the power supply out of its mounting bracket.
9. Reverse Steps 2 through 7 to install the replacement power supply.
