    2. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE SPAA-214-R1 2.1 CONNECTING THE TRST-A15 TO THE POS TERMINAL INSTALLATION PROCEDURE WARNING! 1. Turn the POS terminal OFF before connecting the TRST-A15 printer. 2. Plug the TRST-A15 power cord into the AC outlet on the wall for power supply. Do not obtain the AC power from the AC outlet of the POS terminal such as ST-A10, ST-7000, etc., because the rush current at the TRST-A15 power on may exceed the rating of the power switch of the POS terminal.

The connecting tabs in the front will snap open allowing you to slide the Cover Top out. NOTE: Be gentle when removing the Cover Top as the connecting tabs may break if excessive force is used.

Do not attempt to remove the Main PCB Cage before removing the Interface Card. Doing so may cause serious damage to both the Main PCB and interface card.

    3. DISASSEMBLY AND REASSEMBLY SPAA-214-R1 3.2 DISASSEMBLING THE MAIN BODY 3.2.8 Disassembling the Bottom Frame Remove the Earth Plate and Earth Wires (x2) by lifting it upwards. Earth Plate Earth Wires Remove the Power switch block from the Cover Bottom by using any small flat object (for example: tweezers or metal ruler) to bend it slightly above the emboss as shown in the picture below.

    3. DISASSEMBLY AND REASSEMBLY SPAA-214-R1 3.3 REASSEMBLY PROCEDURE Gently remove the wire from the wire holder before removing the Power Button Block. Slide the Power Button Block in the direction shown. The Power Button Block can then be removed from the Cover Bottom. Wire Holder Turn the Cover Bottom around with the base facing upwards and release the Cable Holder by removing a 3X8 p-tite screw.

    4. DIP SWITCH FUNCTION SPAA-214-R1 4.1 DIP SWITCH SETTINGS DIP SWITCH FUNCTION DIP SWITCH SETTINGS The DIP switches are located on the PC board at the bottom of the printer. They are used to set the RS-232C parameters as shown in the following tables. The switches are used to put the printer into various modes for printer configuration set up.

    4. DIP SWITCH FUNCTION SPAA-214-R1 4.2 DATASCOPE MODE DATASCOPE MODE Datascope Mode allows the user to test the printer’s communications. When in Datascope Mode the printer receives all communications, but instead of executing the commands it prints them out on receipt paper as hexadecimal numbers in the order received.

    5. SELF TEST PRINT SPAA-214-R1 5.1 SELF TEST SELF TEST PRINT SELF TEST To perform the printer self test, use the Mfg Adjustment menu feature. This feature prints instructions on the receipt for selecting any type of print pattern needed. CAUTION! Be extremely careful when changing any of the printer settings to avoid changing other settings that might affect the performance of the printer.
