Building Instructions - BUSSARD river survey boat
Fig. 1
Install the rudder servo in the stern of the boat as shown in the illus-
tration.
Fig. 2
Insert the rudders in the bushes (already fitted in the hull) from the
underside.
Figs. 3 and 3a
Secure the rudders by screwing the tiller arms (A1 and A2) to the
shafts. Check that the levers are parallel to the rudders before tigh-
tening the screws.
Fig. 4
Now connect the link pushrod (V1) to the tiller arms. Check once
more that the rudder system components are exactly parallel, then
secure the assembly by screwing the link pushrod V1 to the ring-
screw A3.
Set the rudder servo to centre (neutral) from the transmitter (servo
output arm at 90° to the servo). Connect the rudder pushrod (V2) to
the tiller arm, and screw it to the ring-screw on the servo output arm.
Fig. 5
Fit the propeller on the propeller shaft.
It is essential that the propeller retaining screw engages on the
machined flat in the propeller shaft, otherwise it could slip.
Check at regular intervals that all the retaining screws in the shaft
system are still tight, and carefully re-tighten them if necessary.
