Select your printer from the list, and then click Continue.
Note: If your configured printer does not appear in the list, then click Modify Search.

Follow the instructions on the computer screen.
For Macintosh users

Allow the network DHCP server to assign an IP address to the printer.

Obtain the printer IP address.

From the printer, print a network setup page.
For more information, see "Printing a network setup page" on page 38.

In the TCP/IP section, look for IP Address.
Note: You will need the IP address if you are configuring access for computers on a different subnet than
the printer.

Install the drivers, and then add the printer.

Install a PPD file on the computer:

Insert the Software and Documentation CD, and then double-click the installer package for the printer.

Follow the instructions on the computer screen.

Select a Destination, and then click Continue.

From the Easy Install screen, click Install.

Type the user password, and then click OK.
All the necessary software is installed on the computer.

Click Close when installation is complete.

Add the printer:
For IP printing:
In Mac OS X version 10.5 or later

From the Apple menu, navigate to:
System Preferences > Print & Fax

Click +, and then click the IP tab.

Type the IP address of your printer in the Address field, and then click Add.
In Mac OS X version 10.4 or earlier

From the Finder, navigate to:
Applications > Utilities

Double-click Printer Setup Utility or Print Center.

From the Printer List, click Add, and then click IP Printer.

Type in the IP address of your printer in the Address field, and then click Add.
For AppleTalk printing:
Note: Make sure AppleTalk is activated on your printer.
