EMISSIONS

It is extremely important that attention be given to the gaseous emissions
throughout the life of the engine. It is the owner/operator's responsibility
to ensure that the engine maintenance is performed as described in this
Owner's Manual, in order to maintain emissions levels within the certified
standards. The owner/operator(s) must never modify the engine in any
manner that alters the allowable gaseous emission levels to exceed the
certified specifications.
EMISSIONS CONTROL INFORMATION
LABEL
At the time of manufacture, each engine is affixed with a tamper-resistant
Emission Control Information (ECI) label. This label affirms the required
emissions statement, along with the engine "family" name, as well as the
engine displacement. The engine serial number is stamped on a flat boss
surface on the rear block, near the corner of the cylinder head. The date of
manufacture is indicated by punch holes at the bottom of the ECI label.
ECI labels must not be removed or tampered with by anyone.
If replacement decals are needed, contact Ilmor Marine, LLC, promptly.
Engines with the CE mark (present in the lower right corner of the ECI
label) affirm that the Declaration of Conformity applies. The Declaration of
Conformity attests the engine's conformance to the appropriate European
Community Directive. The ECI label is located on the electrical component
mounting bracket on the rear of the engine.
