Questions and answers
MV8 5.7L closed cooling in 2016 mastercraft X10 overheat everytime. new impeller, good water flow no leaks water or coolant new thermostat as well as new temp sensor cannot seem to figure this one out.
If the ILMOR MV8 5.7L engine is overheating despite having a new impeller, good water flow, no leaks, a new thermostat, and a new temperature sensor, possible causes include:
1. Blockage in the transmission cooler, which can restrict water flow and cause overheating.
2. Failure of the raw water impeller in a way not related to its condition (e.g., incorrect installation).
3. Water contamination in the transmission oil due to cooler failure, reducing cooling efficiency.
4. Electrical or sensor malfunction not resolved by replacing the temperature sensor (e.g., wiring issues or other sensor faults).
It is recommended to have the system checked by a certified Ilmor dealer.
