Rear-Wheel Stand - BMW K 1200 R Rider's Manual

If the motorcycle is rest-
ing on the center stand:
The motorcycle is raised too
far at the front, the center
stand lifts off the ground and
the motorcycle can tip over to
the side.
When raising the motorcycle,
make sure that the center
stand remains on the
ground.
Apply uniform pressure
to push front wheel stand
down and raise motorcycle.

In order to be able to work
safely on motorcycles without
center stands, BMW Motorrad
offers a rear wheel stand. The
BMW special tool number is
36 3 980 and the rear wheel
stand are available from your
authorized BMW motorcycle
retailer.
Installing rear-wheel
stand
Set the desired height of the
rear wheel stand using the
bolts 1.
Remove the lock washer 2;
to do so, press the unlock
button 3.
